On a Sunday evening in July 2021The Inn On the Green, Shrewsbury, provided the backdrop for our first AGM.   From this, 15 teams that spanned the Salopian region formed the inaugural Super League that would provide the foundation for the County side. The final Sunday in July saw the first of fourteen rounds of Super League matches that would run until April 2022.  Dawley Club would set the pace early on in the season but Shrewsbury based Charles Darwin would run out eventual winners by two points form Market Drayton’s Salopian Star.

September heralded the start of the County season & The Mayor of Shrewsbury was present at the Bagley Club, Shrewsbury, to officially open Salopian’s first game, which ironically was at home to local rivals Shropshire.  At the end of the weekend Men’s A player Robert Paine checked 90 out on the bull to give Salopian Darts there first ever county win as defeated Shropshire 19 v 17.

Northumberland away next & the first of what would be two defeats all season as Salopian more than held there own in a Nine team league that would also see away fixtures at the Isle of Wight & the Black Country before our final game of the season at highly rated Gloucestershire.

In the end Salopian missed out on promotion to Division Three by just four points in a very creditable first season that saw further wins Against the Isle Of Wight, Wirral , Breconshire & Pembrokeshire.  Both the Men’s A & Ladies A sides remained unbeaten all season to cap a remarkable first season which has seen Salopian darts flourish.

With your valued support expectations are high that the forthcoming 2022 / 2023 will bring continued success
