Ladies Week 6

As the Salopian ladies Super League reaches its halfway stage CHARLES DARWIN are installed as the leagues new league leaders following a 3 v 2 victory away at INN ON THE GREEN. Evonne Taylor (18.33) included a 22 dart leg, set the visitors on the way & victory was confirmed with further wins for Trish McDonnell (10.98) & Karen Weston (14.99). Paula Davies ( 13.07) & Kate Leach (16.16) who both fired 26 dart legs with the consolation wins for the IOTG who remain third.

BIRD IN HAND continue their good form having secured a third successive win, this time at home to previous league leaders & neighbours BAGLEY Club. Debutant, Kate Titley (15.65) & Tracey Dean who fired a 22 dart leg in the nights highest average off 20.04, had put the Bagley two nil up, however the Bird in the Hand responded with wins for Romaine Bayliss (14.15) & Claire Boyle (14.82) levelled matters up before Katie Bellerby (19.51) won the final game of the night 3-0 which included a 20 dart leg. Victory sees the Bird In Hand move up to a season high fifth place.

The final game of the night was also a local affair that saw the HEATHGATES entertain the COMPASSES & it would be the visitors who would emerge with the bragging rights following a 3 v 2 away win. Rachel Dunn (10.96) had put the hosts ahead before the Compasses responded with a hat trick of wins for Lynn Middleton (13.79), Allison Gallagher (14.45) & Steph Clarke (16.39) to secure as the visitors returned to winning ways that sees them move up one place to fourth.. Helen Walmsley (12.21) claimed the final game for the Heathgates but couldn’t prevent a third successive defeat that sees the “Gates” one of the bottom. The TELEGRAPH, who had a free week remain at the foot of the table.

There are four players who having played four games or more that currently have a 100 % win rate. Bagley Club’s Tracey Dean with 6 out of 6 wins (16.58) whilst both Steph Clarke (Compasses) & Evonne Taylor have 5 wins from 5 with Katie Bellerby (Bird In Hand) on four out of four. Over 50 players now participating in the Salopian women’s super league & another round of fixtures on October 23rd before the next county game away at Wirral on November 5th/ 6th.
